Sweden and South Korea strengthen cooperation for green energy transition

On June 12–13 2025, Samarkand, represented by CEO Lars Lindblom, participated in a two-day  seminar and matching event with a Korean delegation. Focus was  energy transition.
– Happily, we could immediately match a Korean company with one of our member companies, in this case in hydrogen production and transmission, says Lars.

The Sweden–South Korea Energy Transition Forum in Stockholm gathered around 30 representatives from 12 Korean companies on June 12. The forum focused on cooperation within green energy, nuclear technology and electricity infrastructure, with the goal of supporting the countries’ joint effort towards carbon neutrality. Sweden and South Korea raised their respective strengths in fossil-free electricity production and renewable energy investment.

On Friday, June 13, the Korean delegation visited Dalarna, where Samarkand had the opportunity to present the business. The focus was on some of our energy-related projects:

During the presentation, we highlighted the possibilities for sharing knowledge between the parties and a potential export of both know-how and products linked to these projects.

The forum was organized by Business Sweden and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), and is the second collaboration between the two countries. It coincided with a business and political visit from Sydgyeongsang Province.
